My company is looking to outsource it’s technical support services (but only the inquiries that come in via email). I’ve been looking around and can’t find any estimates. Does anybody have an idea of how much this would cost?

Answer by Ammy It’s the best place in the world to work. Your chances of getting a job here are very slim. google gets thousands of resumes everyday from people such as yourself. Pardon me Yahoo, but click on Google and you can find out about them and there corporate campus. Who wouldn’t want to work there. (Sorry if I offended you Jerry Yang.)

How much does it cost to pay a technical support person who is from overseas?
We’ve all had the experience where we’ve got a computer problem at home or at work and when we call tech. support, its someone with a thick accent that takes the call. My question is how much does it cost to pay an overseas worker compared to someone in the US? And if anyone knows dollar amounts they are paid per hour or per call, I’m curious about that too.

Answer by Muledancer With the computer tech market so overloaded, companies are using degrees as a pre-screening tool. It is true that one does not need a 4 year degree to plug in a network cable or to hook-up a computer on a desk but the companies need (in their view) to reduce the number of capable applicants.
The problem with this is that within the next couple of years, after the need to reduce numbers has disappeared, so will have the reason and the companies will be requiring a 4 year degree for a job that a retarded, syphilitic hamster could do.
