I talked to gateway customer support and was given this link:
But when I follow the steps by pressing ALT-F-10 it takes me to the main boot menu, which is basically the same thing as hitting F-2, which isn’t what I want. If anyone could provide some help it would be greatly appreciated!

Answer by John K If you have the system disks with the operating system on it, just put the disk in and reboot the pc and follow those directions. If you did not get disks, I would call gateway back and tell them it dont work.

I’m having some major issues with my computer. It’s won’t let me go pass the start up. I have all the Windows Recovery Error, Advanced Error Recovery, Windows Boot Manager. Computer freezes & won’t let me reboot or put it in safe mode. I have tried to restart, but after 10mins it tells me it’s unable to restart it might be a software or hardware issue. I did the F8, F2, F12 nothing works on top of me getting some loud beeping noise. Can anyone give me a clue on what might be wrong?
Question by smi317111: Anyone know the direct number for Gateway “Level 2″ customer support?
Hi!
Does anyone who has dealt with Gateway know the direct number for their “level 2″ customer support aka “service operations” or speaking to a “supervisor”? In order to access “Level 2″ and wait for an hour for someone to pick up, I have to first contact “Level 1″ at a 408 area code. It would be nice if I could bypass the “Level 1″ and save some time in the process. I gave up on the phone tonight waiting for Level 2, and called back after 9pm Eastern time only to find that Gateway’s Level 2 closes at 7pm Mountain time. Ugh!!!
Also, maybe someone also knows a 1-800 number to save on long distance charges?
Thanks.

Answer by Prime8 Level 2 tech support get paid more, that’s why Level 1 is there.
Most people call up not having checked if the power cable is plugged in, etc. It would be a waste of time to let the smart people answer those calls.
Unfortunately, telling you the number for level 2 would defeat the purpose. You just have to wade through the dumb techies.

The 6th Generation Ego is the start of a new direction for Planet Eclipse and the focus of the engineering behind the marker. For the first time since the inception of the Ego model, the Ego10′s main design brief and focus has been placed on smoothness of shot and even finer resolved paint handling. Every previous Ego has been developed with the express intent of maximizing the cycle speed of the Ego design, speeding up rammer and bolt movement and minimizing pneumatic and electronic delays wherever possible. Whist this has produced arguably the fastest under-and-over poppet paintball marker on the planet, it can equally be argued that the Ego has not been one of the smoothest shooting. Paintball is changing. No longer is the perfect marker the one that will shoot and cycle the fastest. Today, more than ever, players want and need to be able to shoot the most fragile paint, with the smoothest shot. And this is the direction that the Ego 10 will start taking us in. Yet even though the cycle has been significantly slowed down, due to the unique design of the direct-mounted solenoid, the Ego10 still has extraordinary pneumatic responses that mean no time from switching on the solenoid to the bolt starting to move is wasted. The result: Still 28+bps fire rates, but smoother, quieter, better- handling feel. With a smoother cycle, come other benefits. Wear and tear are significantly reduced. Bumpers, valves, and all other dynamic components suffer less brutal forces on every … Video Rating: 4 / 5
Question by Thinkaboutit: Customer service support for Gateway computers?
Please read my question, “What has happened to Gateway products and support? I noticed others were unhappy with Gateway support and products. Any others? You would think for the price you pay the service would be better. I can’t deal with being on the telephone or on –line for hours just to reach customer service or technical support. I can’t deal with people I can not even understand. I don’t want a Tech who tells me to mail in my laptop or desktop as a means of resolving technical issues. I can’t let go of my computer for several weeks because Gateway stopped using a local contractor for minor repairs and service.

Answer by msdz2000 I had bought a Gateway computer about 9 years ago. Within 30 minutes of hooking the computer up I had problems, not due to the computer but cause i caused the problems with the computer. My lack of computer knowledge was very, very little.
So I called customer support to try to get some help. I did not have to wait around forever to talk to somebody, maybe 5 minutes if that. Also the person I talked to was speaking English very well, had to be American not somebody from overseas like they do now.
Anyway, that person gave be the best piece of advice I could have ever got from anybody and with only a few words.
“Use the system restoration disc that came with the computer. Insert them into the CD/DVD drive and restart the computer and follow all onscreen instructions to get the computer back to original factory settings.”
That was it, so I started fooling with the computer more and more, making mistakes and restoring a lot. I now work on family and friends computers resolving a lot of their problems or even building computers for them. That little bit of information helped me learn more about computers than what they really knew. Just make sure ot backup any important information onto CD’s, DVD’s, or external hard drive. You learn from your mistakes as I did and will know more about your computer by doing this.
So, what I am saying is use the system restoration disc or the system restoration utility that is on the computer to get back to factory settings, providing the problem(s) you have are software related and not hardware. If hardware then you will need to send it back for repairs.
Reason why they stopped using sub-contractors could be the sub-contractors were replacing components that were not actually bad or replacing components with cheaper parts than what originally came with the computer. Gateway was almost bankrupt by a few cases being filed against them for this type of shady work and the cost of replacing components that was not bad or defective in the first place.
Can’t blame them for wanting to make sure it is done right and with the proper hardware by their own technicians.
I will say that because of most computer companies doing this it has caused my one friend who is a computer repair technician to be jobless for a long time. I am sure it hurt a lot of independent computer repair technicians, less work for them.
